This... Wow. This took me a -long- time. This, I believe, is quite possibly the -best- thing I have ever done. I mean... damn, it's my first attempt at a picture with a -background-, and it turned out KICK ASS. I love this to death. Quite honestly, I've come a long way with my art skills, and as remedial as they are, I've done a fairly good job with what I got.
So, here it is; A birthday present for one of my good friends, Tilas Trinity. It's late, but... I don't think she'd mind, heheh.
What do you guys think? I'd like to hear your opinions on this one. : D
Oh WOW!
I'll only complain about it needing to be larger so I can look at the details.
I LOVE the grass, and the tree texture. Feels like a paint. You did great with the shading.
The glow of the moon looks very realistic too.
Hahah, in my mind I just keep saying 'I want to make that into a painting'
Also like the subtle touch of giving her a glow as well.
The stars could of been done differently though, compared to the realism of everything else they look like something stamped or pasted repeatedly as they all look the same but they're not the main 'attraction' so they won't take from the general image.
I still love the freaking grass. Mostly because I've discovered I enjoy painting foliage as much as I like drawing hair.

Wow bro, this is very very VERY awesome. So much better than the stuff I do. You're coloring is so good, I'm jealous of your mad skillz. Those hands are by far the greatest things about the picture, I swear. Sooooooo goooooood!! Again with the jealous!
Definately we need to do an art trade sometime! I would love if you drew me or sumfin^^ Your style makes me happy. Uuugh, the background is fantastic. I'm not even joking when I saw I'm horrible at them. any one who can pull one off is a hero in my book, lawl.

So just screw it... Screw it good 'n long 'n hard and then tell me how you feel... <3
First off, grats on the scenery. It turned out beautifully, i love how you managed to three bark and i am actually envious of how you accomplished the grass effect, was that by hand or by a custom brush?
However *puts on asshole hat* I feel that Tilas there is a tad off model, and by that, i mean its fine to have it in your own style, but something definitely feels off either way you look at it, and im going to put my money on the mouth. Out of everything here, the mouth obviously had the least attention, and sort of kills it for me.
Beleive me, its amazing how much a single line in a drawing can totally change the whole thing, but if you were to take anything from this, id suggest going back and working more on the mouth. I also dont feel that "Happy happy jooy joy" is the right type of expression for this setting and thats throwing me off too, more of a "Comfortably relaxed happy" would suit the setting, and that would also require scaling down the eyes verically and giving her some eye lids.
One last piece of 'ripping apart' is the slight sense of faked bloom on Tilas as a whole, it either jsut didn;t work right or you were missing a bit with Dodge tool or something of the likes. But thats just being picky.
